I went to the Grand Theatre on Thursday and saw Kim's Convenience. I must say, it was exceptionally well done. There were times when I was laughing and times when, I am not ashamed to say, on the verge of tears. It is about a Korean family that has moved to Canada for a better life. It has stereotypes, yes, but so does life, unfortunately. It is kind of a true story, written by Ins Choi who also is an actor in the play. (It is one of those plays where the actors travel and perform together. ) one thing that was interesting was how mondern it was. Usually plays are not really old, but not really recent either. This play was written only 3 years ago. They mention the 2010 Olympics and other recent things. In fact, they mention 2013, so obviously they have changed it so that it really seems like it is happening now. That has a bigger impact than you might intially think. I think the reason it has done so well is because it hits so close to home. (And of course, the acting is great as well). Regardless of ethnicity, everybody had to immigrate at some point so everyone can relate. I highly recommend going to see it. Here's a fun fact: due to its startling success, the play is doing a tour of Canada and it is going to be the Grand Theatre set that goes on tour with the actors. How cool is that?
P.S. this is post 200! (Wow..)

Outdoor Photo Shoot
I've been wanting to do an outdoor photo shoot for a while now, but was always scared away by the cold. But now I've been pressured into it. No the outside part, but the photos part (you know who you are). So here you go:
Also, the other day my dad got his hands on some dry ice, so we were playing around with it (safely, of course):

I Got My G2!!!
Just saying. I'm so excited. I didn't think it would be that different not having a parent with me, but it is. It is awesome. I'm really happy that I got it on my first try (read it and weep, Andrew!). Anyways, just printed off the portflio requirements for Ryerson. It's only 5 works, which I'm happy about. But I also have to give them a resume and a 500 word 'essay' on what new media is in our culture, or something like that. Not too bad, really. It's due February 1st though, so that will be a priority. I need to make sure I keep all these dates straight and don't mess them up.

A Different Perspective
We have received some flowers recently and whenever we get flowers I like to take pictures of them. However, on this particular bouquet of flowers the stems intrigued me. Of course, the flowers up top were beautiful as well, but I like the way the stems are all different lengths and tangled with each other.
I think it looks like the stems are floating, and I like that.
And in case you were wondering, this is what the top looks like :)

I knew it seemed too easy. I had applied for university the other day and thought it was really simple. But now some of the universities have emailed me and told me of all the other forms I need to send in. Geez. I also need to work on my camp application. And I've just started on my English ISP essay that is due next week. I was majorly stressing out about it, but now that I've actually started I think that it is going to be easier than I expected.
