Running from the dark but I just can't hide

title taken from 'Losing Sleep' by John Newman

Do you ever not want to go to bed, even though you're exhausted?

2 down, one more exam to go. It's stats, which I though I would be worried about, but I'm feeling pretty good about it. And then I can finally go home. For a week, then I'll be off to camp! I'm really excited about going back to camp, but I'm also freaking out inside because I have no idea how to my job. I know logically, of all the potential people to work in the kitchen, I have more knowledge than most because I worked there last summer. But that does not mean I have any idea what I'm doing. I'm going up to camp for a day to talk to the representative from our food supplier, so hopefully that will clue me in on how things go a little bit.

337. What's the worst place you've ever been to?
Wow, I don't know. I can't think of a place that's actually bad. There was one time I was disappointed about a place. There's an old house in Uptown Waterloo that's been converted into a book store. It's called Old Goat Books, and looked really cute and old in a kind of hipster kind of way. So I decided to go in, but it was just books on book shelves. There wasn't any of the charm that I was thinking would be inside. Not the worst place I've been to, but one of the disappointing ones.

338. Most attractive singer/s of your opposite gender?
I think Dan Smith of Bastille is pretty cute.

Dumb Left Hands?

Question Backstory: A majority of the world is right-handed (70-90% according to Wikipedia).  We do a majority of our tasks with our right hand and the left hand is noticeably less able. Some countries drive on the left hand side of the road, while others drive on the right (such as ourselves).  We use our right hand to change gears in standard vehicles. In places where people drive on the left hand side of the road (or, have right seated drivers), they switch gears with their left hand. This leads me to...
Question: Speaking about right handed people, would drivers in countries where they drive on the left hand side of the road have more-able left hands (because they use their left hands to switch gears) than those of us who drive on the right hand side (and switch gears with our right)?
Just a thought that's been on my mind...

In other Heather news, I had my FCC interview today. It went well. And I don't want to assume or get my hopes up, but if (when) they hire me, it's totally going to be for FSM (food service manager). Just sayin'.

Also, I love it when I find new Bastille music. Because I swear they are purposely not putting half their stuff on iTunes just to spite me. Makes it more exciting for me though I guess, because I get new music even when they aren't actually releasing anything. They won a Brit award, congrats to them!

99. Do you think you'll be in a relationship two months from now?
I might be, I might not be.

100. (Wow! 100 questions already!) Who from the opposite gender is on your mind?
Well, Josh keeps bringing himself up because he's been texting me. About the weather. We're not even in the same city! (And for a while, we weren't even in the same hemisphere! Well, close to it at least)

Apps this good, whose got time to make friends?

"What Would You Do?" by Bastille

(originally by City High)

[Verse 1:]
Boys and girls, wanna hear a true story?
Saturday night was at this real wild party
There was liquor overflowin' the cup,
About 5 or 6 strippers trying to work for a buck.
So I took one girl outside with me,
Her name was Londy, she went to Junior High with me,
I said, "Why you up in there dancing for cash?
I guess a whole lot's changed since I seen you last."
She said...

[Chorus:]
What would you do if your son was at home
Crying all alone
On the bedroom floor,
Cause he's hungry and the only way to feed him is to
Sleep with a man for a little bit of money?
And his daddy's gone in and out of lock down,
I ain't got a job now,
He's just smokin' rock now,
So for you this is just a good time
But for me this is what I call life

[Verse 2:]
Girl, you ain't the only one to have a baby,
That's no excuse to be living all crazy
So she stared me right square in the eye
And said, "Everyday I wake up, hoping to die"
She said, "They're gonna know about pain
'Cause me and my sister ran away,
So our daddy couldn't rape us,
Before I was a teenager
I done been through more shit
You can't even relate to"

[Break:]
What would you do?
Get up off my feet and stop making tired excuses
What would you do?
Get up off my feet and stop making tired excuses
What would you do?
Get up off my feet and stop making tired excuses
What would you do?
Get up off my feet!

What would you do if your son was at home
Crying all alone
On the bedroom floor,
Cause he's hungry and the only way to feed him is to
Sleep with a man for a little bit of money?
And his daddy's gone in and out of lock down,
I ain't got a job now,
He's just smokin' rock now,
So for you this is just a good time
But for me this is what I call life

What would you do if your son was at home
Crying all alone
On the bedroom floor,
Cause he's hungry

Gloves

Today I bought touch screen gloves. (When I say touch screen gloves I mean gloves that you can keep on while using a touch screen, in case that wasn't clear). I didn't buy them because they were touch screen, but because I needed gloves (WHY IS IT SO COLD OUT), and they were only $3. I was skeptical as to whether they would actually work. However, I was pleasantly surprised when they worked and the tips weren't too fat so I could still text.
Also, little bro, I don't know what hot chocolate powder you sent me to school with, but it sucks. Flat out, makes horrible hot chocolate. I don't know if it's because it's old or just because of the brand. Anyways, when I'm home this weekend, I'm stealing the Timmies hot chocolate powder and nothing can stop me.
This is a new song that I started listening to because iTunes was like, if you like Bastille, you'll probably like this too. And I do, so I thought I'd share it with you. It's Dreaming by Smallpools.

Haunt (Demo) - Bastille

We'll make our agreements,
About when to meet,
And I'll leave you in the doorway,
The cold evening aches,
As it leaves in its wake,
All the memories left by the day,
And I'm questioning why,
As you look to the sky,
That it's cloudless up above our heads,
And thoughts come to mind,
that our short little lives,
Haven't left the path that they will tread,
They will tread

I come back to haunt you,
Memories will taunt you,
And I will try to love you,
It's not like I'm above you,

The wisdom we learn as our minds,
They do burn'll,
Entice the naivety in youth,
As adults will grow and maturity shows,
The terrifying rarity of truth,
As you turn to your mind,
And your thoughts they rewind,
To old happenings and things that are done,
You can't find what's passed,
Make that happiness last,
Seeing from those eyes what you become,
Well you become

I come back to haunt you,
Memories will taunt you,
And I will try to love you,
It's not like I'm above you,

I will see you there,
See you there,
See you there,
I'll come back to haunt,
Memories will taunt you,
And I will try to love you,
It's not like I'm above you
