I was going to go to Charge (P2C) this evening, but the bus never came, so that didn't happen. My friend who was also going got caught up with something with her family, so she couldn't make it either. Clearly we weren't meant to go tonight. But this meant that suddenly I had a Friday night ahead of me with nothing planned. So I made cookies. Red velvet with mini white chocolate chips. They're really tasty. And I didn't really do anything else. I was trying to fill a void, to be honest. My roommates went out with some friends to a pub/club (I'm not sure which) so I was alone. It got a little lonely. I was floating around on the internet but nothing interested me. I probably could have got some work done, but I used the excuse that it's Friday, so I should take a break.

306. Been caught doing something you weren't supposed to do?
Maybe more like something I was supposed to do but wasn't doing. When I was little we had to take these awful gummy vitamins. I hated them. So I started going to the bathroom immediately after dinner and I would spit it out into the garbage. I always made sure to cover it with a piece of toilet paper so I wouldn't get caught. I even crumpled the toilet paper so it wouldn't look so obvious. That lasted for a while. But one time when my mom was emptying the garbage, she found them. And not just one, but lots of them. I was caught. Thinking back on this now, it would have been smarter of me to not take the same colour gummy every time, because that immediately told my parents that it was me, and not my siblings, that was spitting them out. Occasionally, I would still spit them out, but in different garbage cans and wrapped in toilet paper. Thank goodness I don't have to take them anymore.
307. Do you have a best friend of the opposite sex?
Nope.
308. Have you ever loved someone?
Truly (not including family)? No.
309. Who would you like to see right now?
My family.

Apartment Life (?!)
(I'm back!)
Everything's going pretty well in the new apartment. Still haven't met two of the girls...one hasn't even moved in yet. Oh well. I'm not complaining. My room is small, but I'm making it work. Now that most of my stuff is up off the floor, it seems bigger :) (I have a lot of stuff. Too much, really. Although I'm realizing now that I did not bring a lot of shirts with me. Guess I'll have to go shopping!)
This is the view out my window:
Pretty dece.
lol jk
This is actually the view out my window. Could be worse, I suppose. At least I'm not looking directly at another apartment building, which is what one would expect in this area. It will take some getting used to living in the apartment, but I'm sure it will all be fine. The biggest thing for me will probably be thinking of meals to eat. Not even making them is an issue for me, just thinking of what to eat. Maybe I'll just continue on with the camp menu, but with added peanut butter :)
Also I don't know if this is weird or creepy, but I made a picture of Elliot my desktop background and it makes me smile every time I see it. I'm going to miss him so much.
Speaking of boys, Josh is very eager to see me. Like, he hasn't even moved in yet and he's already asking to see me tomorrow. He's already said that he really likes me, but I don't know how I feel about him. But I now understand when girls say they don't know how to break it off. I totally understand that. Because even though we haven't actually had a thing yet, I don't want to crush his hopes and dreams. Ugh. I can't deal with all this drama. I don't know how girls do this all the time.
I'm not going to catch up with the QOTD because I haven't posted in over a month, but I'll do a few and will continue on with them.
245. Opinion on insecurities.
I think everyone has them or has had them at some point. I think they are completely justified and people are entitled to have them.
246. Do you miss how things were a year ago?
Well, a year ago I was a lot more homesick than I am right now and was stepping into first year university not knowing anything, so not really.
247. Have you ever been to New York?
I think I landed at their airport once? I know that I flew over New York City once, because I remember seeing the Statue of Liberty from the air.
248. What is your favourite song at the moment?
Afire Love by Ed Sheeran
249. Age and Birthday?
18, but only for another couple weeks.

No Roommate
An update on the potential roommate: no roommate. The girl moved into the room across from me. That room was empty in the first place because there was mould in it. So this could mean one of three things:
1. The mould is gone (unlikely; they haven't had anybody in to clear it out or anything)
2. The girl was just really desperate to get away from her previous roommate, or
3. She chose mould over me.
I'm not going to take anything personally, but do you see what I'm saying?
Regardless, I am happy and have no roommate. I've been thinking about how to potentially rearrange the furniture, but any layout that I would actually want it to be in doesn't work. So in the mean time, I've stolen the other mattress. I feel like I'm at camp when the cabin isn't full and you steal the extra mattress, hoping it won't be needed by another cabin. There was one time when both my CIT and I had three mattresses. That was a good week :) So now my bed is super tall (or at least it seems like it) and has more of a sinking feeling when you sit on it. I just washed the sheets and I even shaved my legs today. So needless to say, going to bed tonight will be an extremely pleasant experience.

Roommate
The other girl on my floor, who from here on out will be referred to as A, who has no roommate, was saying that our don came up to her and was asking if she would mind if another girl on our floor moved in with her. Apparently the two girls aren't getting along very well. A said no. So I'm guessing that sometime in the near future, our don will be asking me if I wouldn't mind. I don't want another roommate though. I just got used to not having one. So if she does ask, I'm going to say no. At least that's what I tell myself. I'll probably actually say that I would prefer not to, but if there were no other options for her, I would do it. I've been thinking about how I could potentially rearrange the furniture. A has moved the two beds so that they're beside each other. I was about to do that, until I realized I don't have anything to cover the other bed with, and I don't want to be lying on the mattress cover. So I'm still thinking of different plans. I want to organize it to that I can have the two desks beside each other so I have a lot of work space.
73. Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
March 14th, 2009. (I didn't know that off the top of my head, I had to look it up). I was going on vacation with my BFFLAAT and we were standing in Port Everglades. We had arrived later than planned, and so were a little restless. After entering the United States and getting on a plane with the documentation I had, I was being told that no, I could not get on the Norwegian Jewel because I did not have the proper documentation. J was saying that this form had gotten me into the US, it should be good enough for NCL. And then J whipped out her lawyer card (not literally, unfortunately, because that would have been enough for NCL) and they still wouldn't let me on. Then there was this whole fiasco trying to contact my parents for permission and is it the proper form and she needs a witness and how will she get it to us. Then my parents couldn't find the form online and everyone was panicking. And then the fire alarm went off. I started panicking even more, but nobody else did anything, so I continued to sit there. Then the NCL people are asking what our luggage looks like so that they can take it off the boat. Meanwhile, J was starting to loose it and I thought, "I'm not going on a cruise. J is going to hate me, I ruined her vacation (cause they couldn't very well just leave me there and go on the cruise themselves). I'm not going to be able to hang out with my BFFLAAT anymore." Finally, NCL gave in and said I could get on. About bloody time! But before I could even rejoice, the port security come in and are asking people to leave the building because of the ******* fire alarm. WHICH HAS BEEN GOING OFF FOR 20 MINUTES. So we are standing outside, aware of the minutes ticking by before the boat leaves. Finally we are let back into the building. Where we have to go through security AGAIN. And so, after a painfully long and stressful afternoon, we walk onto the Norwegian Jewel. And that is when I cried happy tears. (I just want to thank J and I* and my BFFLAAT for still liking me after that whole situation and putting up with me after that. And even more so to be willing to face that situation again.)
I'm gonna do more bonus questions for a while. These ones are all about Sherlock.
1. Favourite male character: My first reaction is probably Sherlock. Cause he's amazing. I love what he does. Especially seeing him show more emotions and being in his mind palace this past season makes me love him even more. But also seeing this last season, I have realized I have this hidden love for Moriarty (and Andrew Scott, who plays him). So either of those two.
*that's not I as in me, that's I as in a short form of a name.

Ok so we finally got some heaters (well I think we were actually just given the ones that were in the hall). So my roommate had them both plugged in on her side of the room, causing the electrical breaker to flip. So then we went to Karen, the Head of Housing and complained that we didn't have heating or electricity in our outlets. She said she was about to call somebody about the heating, and that she would send someone to look at the breaker. The breaker was flipped back and we had electricity, but then it flipped again. The heaters were too much for the outlet. So now we only have one, plugged in on the other end of the room. Hopefully it will start to warm up. Well, hopefully the heating starts working again, but this will have to do for now.

Ladies and Gentlemen!
My roommate did laundry! And I mean, did laundry, with a washing machine and everything! Never thought I'd live to see the day.
Also, I just found out that Carly Rae Jepsen did a cover of Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid, and I am not okay with that.

Chocolate Milk....
My roommate just tried to put a glass of chocolate milk in her kettle. I mean, like the entire glass. The glass cup from the caf, full of chocolate milk, into her kettle. Thank the Lord it didn't fit. I'm too scared to even ask what she was thinking.

WE LOST
After all the (wo)man hours we put into making those paper cranes, we lost. Another floor had approx 50 more cranes than we did. I think in the end we had ~420 paper cranes. And now we don't get the sushi platter. The more depressing thing to think about is how many hours of my life did I just waste making paper cranes, all for nothing? Well, I wouldn't say nothing. I'm closer with some of the other girls on the floor from when we had paper crane folding parties. I'm happy about that. I don't know if I ever told you guys, but one of the girls on my floor has a double room to herself. Her roommate just never showed up. But now she has a roommate. A girl from the floor above us was annoyed by the hours people were keeping on her floor. I guess they were really loud or something. Anyways, she's moving onto out floor now. I, personally, would be annoyed, because I had gotten used to having a room to myself, and not I don't. I guess it's fair though. It wasn't fair that she got a room to herself to begin with. Ah well. I have crossed 4 out of 7 things off my to-do list today. Unfortunately, two of the three left I am not looking forward to at all. One of the things is just to print off pictures, which is easy. I'm trying to do them in order of importance though, cause otherwise things would never get done. I was playing guitar again today and got another compliment! but my fingers are really sore. I need to stop playing for so long at one time. While I was playing, I was sitting on my leg/foot. When I went to stand up it felt like I had a cast on. I could only feel a part of my heel. I was banging it against the ground and felt nothing, but I could hear that is was really loud. It felt heavy. It took over 5 mins for it to go back to normal. (And it was a very painful 5 mins).

Posters Make Me Happy and My Room Prettier!
Since I don't have Adobe Illustrator, which I need for an assignment I'm working on, I thought I'd search out the lab on campus that does have it. Of course, it would be in the building that is on the exact opposite end of campus from me. So I packed up my laptop and camera and hiked across campus. Only to discover that a professor had booked the lab and I would not be able to use it. It looks like there is a time when I can use it tomorrow, but using this lab is going to be more difficult than I thought. My back hurt by the time I got back. Cameras and laptops are heavier than they appear. Renison, the building I live in is also the home of Waterloo's East Asian Studies and there is currently an East Asian Festival going on. The floors have been challenged to fold the most paper cranes. The prize is sushi for the floor. At first I didn't think my floor was actually going to try but then our don said that we were. So I was folding paper cranes in all my free time today. I've folding over 30 so far. We have until the 26th to hand them in. It's one of those things where you think you're doing well but there's probably somebody on a floor somewhere that has been folding cranes non-stop. Oh well. My hands are getting sore.
This week there is a poster sale in the SLC building. Some of my friends were going and invited me. I said I'd go but wasn't planning on buying any because posters can be pretty expensive. I took my wallet though just in case. They had tons of different posters: tv shows, bands, singers, quotes, art, typical poster things (like the Periodic Table). I was shocked. They had them set up in these zig zag rows. It was a little intimidating. The posters also varied in size. Most were standard poster size, but they had little ones, medium ones, skinny and long ones. And some that were huge. I'm talking 45+ inches across. And they were basically all under $24. That's how much the huge ones cost. If I had room, I would have bought a huge Starry Night print. The standard sized ones were $8-12. I was impressed. I ended up buying three. Two are small and one is long and skinny:
I love them. I bought them with some money I got for my birthday. I love them! They make me so happy. There was a Sherlock one, but I didn't like the design really. Shame. One of the friends I went with was having trouble deciding which ones to get so she's going to sleep on it. She also wanted to measure how much wall space she had. There is a lot of wall space (relatively speaking, of course) but it's all very broken up, there isn't a lot of big spaces for posters. That's one of the reasons I got smaller ones.
I am going to see how many more paper cranes I can fold and then go to bed. I am going to try going to bed at a more regular time. I have a really hard time falling asleep here. It doesn't help that my roommate has gotten into the habit of staying out late. It's not like she's out partying or anything, she's studying or working. Sometimes I don't see her all day. But she'll come in and see that I've already gone to bed. And proceed to turn the light on and do various things. I'm ok with her turning the light on briefly to get ready for bed but then she needs to turn it off. She usually ends up doing more work. I'll have to talk to her about lights out again.
