There's a girl walking around on the "field" outside my window and it's really throwing me off. I keep hearing her footsteps as she tramps around in all the dead leaves. Sometimes she comes really close to my window. I don't think she realizes that I'm there, and she definitely does not know that my window is open and I can hear everything she's saying:
- she's done with exams on the 14th (just like me)
- her friend goes back to work in a couple weeks (I go to camp in a month)
- her exam is based of stuff they went over in class (...duh)
Completely oblivious. I just stared at her for a solid minute. Nothing. She also cannot stand still to save her life. I should point out that while it is close to a door to Renison, this "field" is not exactly close to any paths or anything. It makes me wonder why she choose there. Ha. Probably because she didn't think she would be heard by anybody there. Well you thought wrong, darling. It's so funny to be sitting here writing about her while she's just a few feet away from me, yet she is completely unaware. But I guess that's the media and paparazzi for you.
At least she's scared the geese away. For now.

Ok so Josh does this thing where I'll be eating by myself and he sits somewhere else, because he doesn't see me. But then once he's seated he'll see that I'm also eating, more noticeably alone. However, by the time he works up the courage to come and sit with me, I'll have finished eating. I'll be getting up and leaving. And every single time (because it has happened multiple times), he'll be on his way over or just about to get up to move, he'll see me leaving and I can see how he dies a little inside. And now that I'm typing this out, I'm realizing: am I being mean? Should I just sit there and let him come over? Man, I dunno about any of this stuff.
I'm doing a project about digital worlds and our "second lives". I'm doing a wedding scene where the couple is texting their vows to each other. I asked Josh if I could take a picture of his hands holding a phone. And so now our phone conversation has wedding vows in it...
129. What are your favourite stores to shop in?
I'm going to limit it to stores where I could/would actually buy something, because for all you know, I could be taking the bus every weekend to Pandora and admiring everything I can never have. I like Winners, (Old Navy???), Forever 21 (kind of), I don't know. I'm not really a person who has to have branded clothes, it's really just whatever is cheapest. I've had a craving to go thrift shopping recently...(CAMP!)
You should all go play 2048. It's ruining my life because it's so addicting and I have studying to be doing.

Wind Out
Friday night was Renison's Wind Out. Everybody gets dressed up to go to the Delta hotel in Kitchener and have a very nice dinner. They gave out some of the awards and then there was a dance. It was pretty fun, but I've never been much of a dance person. When we got back at about 11:30, my friends and I ordered pizza and had another dance party in one of the lounges. Then we all slept in one room, like a sleepover. It was a lot of fun. Until 9:30AM, that is, when the fire alarm went off. According to the dons, the fire alarm was supposed to go off at 1pm. The thing I want to know is who decided that a fire alarm the day after Wind Out (where there was a bar) would be a good idea? And then who thought it would be a good idea to do it in the morning?! Because I had slept in my friends room, I didn't have my jacket or proper shoes. I was standing outside in shorts, a t-shirt and flip-flops in below zero temperatures for over half a hour. Then one of the sweetest things that has ever happened to me happened: Josh came over and gave me his jacket. Like seriously, these types of things don't happen to me. But then he was shy and so just kind of walked away after he gave it to me. I was able to thank him later when I gave it back. But that's like the sweetest thing that's ever happened to me. Then I spent all of yesterday in my friends room, a majority of that time occupying a portion of her bed. I did manage to get some work done on my peanut butter report*, but it was an overall very lazy day. I watched a couple episodes of Hannibal. I'm enjoying it, but it's some pretty dense stuff. I would find myself halfway through the episode all tense and holding my breath. But fun times and lazy days will soon be over because there are only 2 (TWO!!) weeks of classes left and then the dreaded exams. Ugh. I am so ready for everything to be over (and for camp to start!!!)

I don't play any sports. Unless belaying can be consider a sport...

Since, you've all been asking, here's how the bubble tea outing went (it's just copied from an email, so it might read a little weird? maybe not):
The outing with Josh was ok. We walked over to the plaza and got bubble tea and sat in the store while drinking the tea. We just chatted. We haven't talked a lot so we were just kind of getting to know each other better. But we're both awkward at having conversations, so that makes things interesting. The way he keeps conversations going is he'll say "tell me a story". Or "what is there exciting about you"? And I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean, obviously we would both like there to be conversation, and not silence, but he backs out and forces me to come up with a new conversation topic. I would be okay with it, but he does it every time there's a lull in the conversation. He was shocked to learn that I'm half Chinese (he literally was taken aback when I told him my last name). But apparently I don't know enough Asian stuff, so he's going to teach me all this Asian stuff? He's shocked that I don't read comics. (Like, he has a thing for over-reacting a little bit. But I think that is going back to the awkward conversation; he doesn't want to seem like he's not interested, so he goes over the top.) Says him, who has a comic book as one of his textbooks and doesn't want to read it -_- I convinced him to watch Frozen though. I told him I would watch the Batman series if he watched Frozen. But it's not like I actually have time to watch movies right now.
92. Do you want to get married?
Yes.
93. Who was the last person you held hands with?
I have a memory of holding hands recently for a strange reason. Like the reason I had to hold hands was weird, not the fact that I have a memory of it. But I can't get at it. Lethologica. So the clear memory I have of holding hands was with Ryan, who is in my program, my art class and lives in Renison. I am not great friends with Ryan, he's not really the kind of person I would hang out with normally, but I don't know anybody else in my art class, so yeah. We had just come back from our art class and Uthi, a girl on my floor also in GBDA and who is closer to Ryan, was walking through a hall in Renison. Ryan said, "Grab my hand and start skipping. We're going to freak Uthi out." He didn't really give me a chance to even think about what he had said, so skipping down the hall I went, holding hands with Ryan. We both had huge grins on our faces and were acting like we were the happiest couple to ever walk the earth. We passed Uthi and her mouth just dropped. I have to admit, it was pretty funny.

My Life: A Summary
- minimum of 5 hours of studying each day
- 2.5 hrs each for econ and business (I'm doing a chapter a day; I thought it would take me 45mins to an hour for each chapter, since I'm just reviewing what I've already read, but it's been taking me at least two hours)
- doing an image for my bookwork assignment for my art class
- which never turns out how I imagine in my brain
- so that just depresses me
- cause my hands are not the artist my brain is
- lack of sleep
- second and third winds, preventing sleep when I can actually have it
- drowning my sorrows in tea and baked goods (Timmies has these really good red velvet muffins right now)
- I like tea better with sugar, I've discovered
- which, you would think, wouldn't be a big deal
- but it is because the caf has sugar
- and I don't. So now if I want tea with sugar, it has to be when the caf is open
- which is never when I feel like tea
- going on an awkward outing with a boy that likes me
- drinking bubble tea on said outing
- which, quite frankly, was disgusting
- the bubble tea, that is
- there's this kind of middle aged man that works at Renison, doing maintenance stuff and odd jobs and whenever I see him, I just smile. Cause he seems like one of those guys that would just be really great to hang out with, like he would always be happy
- tea/sugar update: I've stolen some sugar packages from the caf
- but they're sugar alternatives, so I'm sure it will not be as good
- listening to Coldplay's "Fix You"
- avoiding my 5 hours of studying by writing this post
- oh I also forgot to mention the hour of photoshop tutorials I need to watch
- because heaven forbid I don't know how to use the eraser tool and I need to watch a 5 minute video on it
- complaining to the void (you guys) about my problems
- which are nothing compared to the problems in Africa, which were mentioned in this morning's service
- I'm sitting by a window and these two squirrels keep running back and forth
- two mid-terms, a presentation, three chapter readings, and an assignment all (due) on Friday
- residence weekend brunches are my fav meals of the week because they have baked beans and pastries
- eating said pastries despite the fact that I already had a muffin
- I forgot to mention earlier that the muffin I got from Timmies was fresh baked; that's the pro of being up early, they've just opened and so everything was still warm and soft and gooey on the inside
- listening to Coldplay's "The Scientist"
- this post is taking longer to write that I originally thought
- apparently my time judgement is just completely off these days
- I went to the bank
- but forgot it was Sunday and the morning
- so it was closed
- so I couldn't get the loonies I need for laundry
- so that will be interesting when laundry day comes around (Wednesdays)
- I read on the bus
- because that's the only time I can find to read
- and I've really missed reading
- my tea has gone cold because I've been too busy typing to drink it
- strawberry danish and red velvet muffin down, bread pudding to go
- I was going to try and stop eating to much in the pathetic hopes that I would look half decent in my bathing suit next week
- but to hell with that
- speaking of next week
- I can't even get excited because I have so much stuff to do
- including packing for next week
- which I'm stressing out about
- cause I'll probably forget something important
- like my bathing suit
- and I'm going to have to haul it all to Stratford
- don't even get me started on Stratford right now
- I am just about done with that place
- more specifically the campus/courses/professors
- damn this is taking a long time; listening to Hunter Hayes' "Invisible"
- I just dropped a piece of my bread pudding -_-
- my skind is really dry
- like, never before in my life has my skin been this dry
- the skin over my knuckles is cracking and splitting
- it's not like I needed that skin anyways
- my skind is really dry
- like, never before in my life has my skin been this dry
- the skin over my knuckles is cracking and splitting
- it's not like I needed that skin anyways
- the LEGO Movie got 97% on Rotten Tomatoes
- which makes me really happy
- cause I want to see it
- but now I really want to see it
- just watched The LEGO Movie trailer
- here, you can too:
- yeah and now I'm basically just stalling to avoid work
- oh hey I can do my daily things
- (the squirrels just ran by again)

Sherlock: Character everyone likes but you don't.
Probably Anderson. Everyone hated him up until season three, where he was the only one who believed in Sherlock. And I really liked learning more about him in this season. But I'm still not a huge fan though.

QOTD #90 (Second Wind)
So today on the bus back to Waterloo I was trying to do some studying for economics. But I was super tired, and kind of nodding off as I was typing notes. Eventually I just fell asleep for like 20 mins. But man, I felt so much better afterwards. Even though I only slept for a short time, I was roaring and ready to go again. Anyways, since I didn't get much studying done on the bus, I did some this evening. I went to pick up where I had fallen asleep and it was like a drunk person had been typing. There were random letters, random words, short coherent sentences, spaces of nothing, etc. It was hilarious.
Also, at dinner, I was sitting alone. There's this guy who sometimes if he sees me eating alone will come sit with me. I'm like 89.7% sure he likes me. He's always, in his own words, "baffled" when he talks to me. And I was like, well so am I so we can just be awkward together. I didn't actually say the awkward together part. But he asked for my number (after asking if I had FB). And so yeah. Interesting story of the day. Heather gets further than ever before in a relationship with a boy (I don't know what you want to call this).
It's 1AM right now, and I'm totally on my third wind. I'm really wound up right now cause all I've been doing for the past 4 hours is typing study notes. I think I may have to go take a walk around Renison. I'm going to start painting for a project I have. Like I said, wound up, not really thinking with the most common sense. Painting at 1AM!
90. Opinions on sex before marriage?
I won't have sex before marriage, but other people are entitled to their own opinions and what they do with their sexual desires. (I've been spending too much time on tumblr...I'm trying to make sure I don't offend anyone and justify my answer...)
Sherlock: Character you love now more than ever before.
Jim Moriarty.

Roommate
The other girl on my floor, who from here on out will be referred to as A, who has no roommate, was saying that our don came up to her and was asking if she would mind if another girl on our floor moved in with her. Apparently the two girls aren't getting along very well. A said no. So I'm guessing that sometime in the near future, our don will be asking me if I wouldn't mind. I don't want another roommate though. I just got used to not having one. So if she does ask, I'm going to say no. At least that's what I tell myself. I'll probably actually say that I would prefer not to, but if there were no other options for her, I would do it. I've been thinking about how I could potentially rearrange the furniture. A has moved the two beds so that they're beside each other. I was about to do that, until I realized I don't have anything to cover the other bed with, and I don't want to be lying on the mattress cover. So I'm still thinking of different plans. I want to organize it to that I can have the two desks beside each other so I have a lot of work space.
73. Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
March 14th, 2009. (I didn't know that off the top of my head, I had to look it up). I was going on vacation with my BFFLAAT and we were standing in Port Everglades. We had arrived later than planned, and so were a little restless. After entering the United States and getting on a plane with the documentation I had, I was being told that no, I could not get on the Norwegian Jewel because I did not have the proper documentation. J was saying that this form had gotten me into the US, it should be good enough for NCL. And then J whipped out her lawyer card (not literally, unfortunately, because that would have been enough for NCL) and they still wouldn't let me on. Then there was this whole fiasco trying to contact my parents for permission and is it the proper form and she needs a witness and how will she get it to us. Then my parents couldn't find the form online and everyone was panicking. And then the fire alarm went off. I started panicking even more, but nobody else did anything, so I continued to sit there. Then the NCL people are asking what our luggage looks like so that they can take it off the boat. Meanwhile, J was starting to loose it and I thought, "I'm not going on a cruise. J is going to hate me, I ruined her vacation (cause they couldn't very well just leave me there and go on the cruise themselves). I'm not going to be able to hang out with my BFFLAAT anymore." Finally, NCL gave in and said I could get on. About bloody time! But before I could even rejoice, the port security come in and are asking people to leave the building because of the ******* fire alarm. WHICH HAS BEEN GOING OFF FOR 20 MINUTES. So we are standing outside, aware of the minutes ticking by before the boat leaves. Finally we are let back into the building. Where we have to go through security AGAIN. And so, after a painfully long and stressful afternoon, we walk onto the Norwegian Jewel. And that is when I cried happy tears. (I just want to thank J and I* and my BFFLAAT for still liking me after that whole situation and putting up with me after that. And even more so to be willing to face that situation again.)
I'm gonna do more bonus questions for a while. These ones are all about Sherlock.
1. Favourite male character: My first reaction is probably Sherlock. Cause he's amazing. I love what he does. Especially seeing him show more emotions and being in his mind palace this past season makes me love him even more. But also seeing this last season, I have realized I have this hidden love for Moriarty (and Andrew Scott, who plays him). So either of those two.
*that's not I as in me, that's I as in a short form of a name.

QOTD #69-71
69. Ever take dance lessons?
I think I may have when I was younger...I can't really remember...
70. Is there a profession you picture your future spouse doing?
Uh, I hadn't really thought about it. I would like for him to have a respectable career, but it's not like I have a fetish for doctors or anything...
71. Can you curl your tongue?
Yup.
Bought my first ever lottery ticket today! I didn't win though. I bought two tickets, but I'm gonna do the second one later one. I also bought an ice cream cone, which was nice. And then my friend and I spent the night in together. There was a dance organized by one of the residents going on in Renison, but we didn't feel like going. A couple people came around encouraging us to come, but we kind of brushed it off. Later we found out that nobody had gone and I felt kind of bad. But not bad enough to wish I had spent my night any differently. Also, our Timbuktu floor wear came in today! It's like the camp core staff sweater. It's so soft on the inside!

QOTD #62
So I was walking around campus today cause I had a bunch of things I had to do. I picked up "course work" for my GBDA 102 course. Basically I paid 16 bucks for 20 pages of stuff I could have found on the internet. I picked up my art tool kit, for my FINE 150 course, which is all about drawing and painting. I have to say, it was a bit like getting a present, even though I had to pay for it. There's a bunch of stuff in it including a sketchbook, paints, paintbrushes, big paper, a portfolio (!!!), pencils, charcoal, etc. They gave me a glue stick, which I thought was cute.
I was sitting in my room going through my new supplies when there was a pounding on the hall door, at the other end of the hall. I knew, from previous experience, that it was two of the girls from my* floor who didn't have their keys with them. I figured somebody else would let them in, so I ignored them. But after a couple minutes, nobody had let them in, so I made my way down the hall to let them in. I could see through the glass that they were giving up, one had even sat down. I open the door, and the one girl (who was still standing) has the nerve to say to me, and I quote, "Wholly f*ck, Heather, what took you so long?"
!!!!!!!!!
excuse me?
excuse me?
EXCUSE ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I'M THE ONE WHO JUST LET YOU IN. SORRY THAT YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR KEYS WITH YOU.
So I asked, with obvious disgust in my voice, "Why don't you just take your keys with you?"
And the girl sitting down says, "No need to be sassy" while the standing girl says "Heather, it's only our second day back, we can't be expected to remember."
YES YOU CAN BE EXPECTED TO REMEMBER YOUR KEYS BECAUSE YOU'VE BEEN LIVING HERE FOR 4 MONTHS with only a 2-3 week break. I just turned away and hoped for their own sake that they caught the door before it shut again. (Bittersweetly, they did catch it).
Now about Sherlock. **slight spoilers** I watched the two episodes that have aired in season 3 so far. I am not sure how I feel about the first episode. It was well done, obviously. But there were some things that I'm not sure I would've done had I been in charge. I don't want to give too much away, but Sherlock acts differently regarding some situations than I would've thought he would. And I'm still confused slightly about how some things went. I was watching it with my friend in her room. Her roommate would start talking sometimes and then people were dropping in, so it was an interrupted viewing. I want to watch it again so that I can watch it straight through and catch everything that Sherlock says. Cause he can talk fast. However, there were still lots of moments that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED. Ohmigosh there was this one scene that kept replaying in my head as I was trying to fall asleep last night. I can't even handle it. Episode 2, I LOVED. It was beautiful! It's about John getting married to Mary. It was so cute, but still had the "Sherlock" feel in it. And of course, Sherlock still finds a way to make deductions. One of the things I love so much about Sherlock (the tv show, not the character. I just realized this might be really confusing if I don't differentiate.) is the cinematography. The transitions between scenes are beautiful. The way they represent Sherlock (the character)'s thoughts on screen is so cool. AGH. After watching them, I went on tumblr for the first time in over a week. And it was just what I expected: everything Sherlock. The fandom has taken over. (That's why I didn't go on for a week, I didn't want anything to be spoiled). BUT THEN TUMBLR GOT TOO CLEVER and everybody's pointing things out and it's like, oh that's cool, I hadn't noticed that. But then people were pointing out foreshadowing and THERE IS A LOT OF FORESHADOWING AND THEY RUINED IT (it as in "something") FOR ME. I don't know if it's going to happen in episode 3, but you can be sure that it will happen eventually. I was reading the Sherlock Holmes books during december, but I had stopped before Sherlock "died" cause I didn't want anything to be ruined. Apparently there was more to be ruined than I had thought. I might keep reading them, since I know now. But yeah.
62. What do you wear to bed?
Right now, it's these really old Aeropostale pyjama pants and a Renison t-shirt.
*before typing 'my', I typed 'our', which is weird, cause that's like I'm writing to someone who is on my floor. But none of you are...
QOTD #60
60. Wear slippers?
When I'm in residence, yes. I have these little bootie slippers. Now that I think about it, they actually belong to my mom. At least, they were given to her. She didn't seem to keen on them though, so I just kind of took them :) And there was a phase last winter where I would always wear my dad's slippers around the house when he wasn't around. And then I would try to continue wearing them once he got home, but he would steal them.

QOTD #51
51. Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?
The yearbook rep on my floor had to take headshots for the Renison yearbook, but she's not a professional photographer, so I don't know if it counts. She wasn't even taking the pictures portrait style, she was taking them landscape. I'm pretty sure for a picture to be a portrait, it would be good to start in portrait orientation. Ah well. I guess the last time I had a professional take my photo was at Grade 12 grad. Wow, that seems so long ago. I think at the end of the year I'm going to make a list of all the things that happened to me. If I can remember...

QOTD #38 & 39
38. Who did you last call?
Wow, I don't think I can remember the last time I called someone. The last phone call I had, however, was earlier today in which I'm pretty sure someone butt-called my house...
39. Who was the last person you danced with?
Um, dancing...at a dance... That would with two of my floor friends. I've probably done some impromptu dancing since then, but it wasn't with anyone.

QOTD #22
Guys, I finished everything on my list to do today and it's not even 5 o'clock yet. This never happens. Also, we had a college dinner last night (where everybody gets dressed up and there are servers and we all eat at the same time). I had half an hour so I thought I would try to straighten my hair. I DID IT IN 8 MINUTES. 8 MINUTES. I straightened my hair in 8 minutes. That does not happen. I have thick hair and a lot of it. 8 minutes! I still can't get over it. My hair will be straight much more often now that I know it won't take me half an hour to do so.
22. Would you ever want to swim with sharks?
Well, I have already. But I was floating across the top of the water and they were deeper down. And they were ting sharks. I don't think I would want to do the whole dropped-into-shark-infested-waters-in-a-cage thing though.
My guiltiest pleasure is...
Wow, um, I dunno. Probably eating snacks when I've already eaten lots. And watching movies and TV online... :)

Ok so we finally got some heaters (well I think we were actually just given the ones that were in the hall). So my roommate had them both plugged in on her side of the room, causing the electrical breaker to flip. So then we went to Karen, the Head of Housing and complained that we didn't have heating or electricity in our outlets. She said she was about to call somebody about the heating, and that she would send someone to look at the breaker. The breaker was flipped back and we had electricity, but then it flipped again. The heaters were too much for the outlet. So now we only have one, plugged in on the other end of the room. Hopefully it will start to warm up. Well, hopefully the heating starts working again, but this will have to do for now.

QOTD #21
21. Are you in a good mood?
Well, while I should have been studying, I was watching vlogbrothers videos about The Fault in our Stars movie which I am SO EXCITED FOR. It comes out on June 6th, 2014. I also learned that Ansel Elgort, who plays Augustus Waters in TFioS, is also in the movie for Divergent, which I am ALSO VERY EXCITED FOR (he plays Tris's brother). So that was some fun fangirling. But it is also RIDICULOUSLY COLD ON MY FLOOR AND ESPECIALLY IN MY ROOM. The entire wing that my floor is on is cold, the heating isn't working. Probably how the mould got started. Or I guess mould would thrive in warmer temperatures...? Anyways, I've been wearing sweaters and multiple pairs of sock for the past week. There was even a time I put gloves on I was so cold. Being at the end of the hall (and not the end attached to the building), my room and the room across from me are the coldest. Somebody had a thermometer and the end rooms are AN ENTIRE 10 DEGREES COLDER than the rest of the building. They put two dinky heaters in the hall, which is kind of warming up the hall, BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP MY ROOM. The room across from me had been given a heater when it first started to get cold and they say that it only raised the temperature 2 degrees. The girls in that room don't even sleep in their room anymore. They go sleep on other floors WHERE THE TEMPERATURE IS NOT COMPARABLE TO THAT OF OUTSIDE. So if you're still looking for a Christmas gift idea, a heater would be greatly appreciated. At least I'm only here for 5 more days and then I'm home! So to answer the question, yes. I am in a good mood. TFioS tipped the scale. Had I decided to to what I was supposed to be doing (studying for Italian), I would not be in a good mood.
What scares me is...
The unknown. And I know a lot of people probably say that. But I don't mean the unknown as in "what's outside our galaxy?" kind of unknown (although that's probably pretty scary as well). I mean if somebody has a surprise or something. The little unknowns. For example, when the bus to TO left before I was on it and there was nobody around to tell me what was going on, that was scary. Situations where I am doing something and there is nobody to reassure me that what I'm doing it correct, that scares me.

Overhearing
One of the girls on my floor is talking to a friend on her phone about how she's going to get a belly button piercing. From what I've gathered, the people she's told haven't been supportive of her decision, but she just keeps on saying that "it's my own body and I can do whatever I want". To each his (her) own. But then I heard this:
Girl getting piercing: "And my parents are going to think I’m a devil child."
Friend: "You probably are."
you probably are

(Mom and Dad, I'm Sorry for This...)
Renison had a lot going on for Halloween. Like I mentioned before, there was a lot of decorating going on. There was a haunted hallway competition. We tied with another floor for most creative. The floor that won for scariest was actually really scary. (People went around to tour the floors). Oasis, the winning floor, made their floor a haunted circus. But instead of just having decorations, they actually had a tour through their floor, and all the residences of that floor was a different attraction. First of all, throughout the entire thing there were clowns crawling on all fours petting your feet. It's actually a lot creepier than you would think. Then you would go into rooms and see different things. There was a dead(?) girl in a bathtub, a big baby, a person jumping out from behind a mattress, bearded lady, black widow, and a doll. All of which were very creepy. One of my friends looked like she was about to pee herself. I was impressed and can understand why they won. One of my floormates, however, was royally pissed off. She doesn't see our tie as a win, even though it was a tie for first place. Oh well. Then there was Don trick or treating where you went around to the dons and got candy. You didn't get much, since there's only 10 floors, but it was fun. Lastly, there was a dance in the caf, but my friends and I had decided that we would go to a club earlier in the week. So that's what we did. It was a special Halloween all ages party. My friend had asked if I wanted to go, and when I found out that my closest friends were going, I decided (after being caught under attack from my friends during a moment of weakness) that I would go as well. (I should make it clear, that I was in no way forced to go to this, I decided that I would go). We took a bus down to the club in Kitchener. The bus was positively packed with people going to the club. There was a line and our friend (whose idea it was to go to the club in the first place) was scolding us and saying that we should have left earlier. But line line moved surprisingly fast. Which is good, because it was raining. Now, being the first time I've ever been in a club, I didn't really know what to expect. From the moment after I decided I would join my friends up until I was actually in the club, I was regretting my decision about going, for multiple reasons. One, being I'd never been to a club before and I was nervous. Two, I had to be up at 7AM in order to catch my bus to Stratford the next morning. Three, I didn't know if my friends would be drinking and whether I would have to take care of them. Four, I would be willingly surrounding myself with drunk people. But I kind of realized that it's basically just a high school dance on steroids. (Well, more like overdosed on steroids). So we danced and got pushed around and shoved and got sweaty. Typical clubbing, I would imagine, except for the drinking. Only one of my friends is old enough, and she didn't drink anything. So were were a sober group of friends in a club like four raisins in a bowl of milk (inside joke). This one guy tried to dance with me, and I was like, no, this is not happening, buddy. We danced for about an hour and a half, than sat in one of the booths for a while. Then two of my friends went out and danced again while me and my other friend continued to sit. When the two dancers came back, we decided to head out. We took a cab home since the buses weren't running that late. So overall, this is how I view my experience: It was ok. Definitely not worth the money I spent ($20 for the ticket, $2 coat check, $5 for the cab). I'm glad none of us drank anything. Probably won't do it again any time soon! I am currently operating on 5 hrs of sleep (and I am definitely somebody who needs a solid 8hrs of sleep). And as always with me, I feel fine (mostly) right now, but I'll crash around 4PM...
UPDATE: I totally forgot to mention a key part of my night: my outfit. Now, you already know about my costume. But I didn’t think that going to a club in a Mary Poppins outfit would be fitting. So I did a bit of a variation. I kept the shirt and bowtie, but ditched the skirt for black skinny jeans. I then used the red ribbon as an accent belt. So I was literally in the club wearing long pants, a long sleeved button up shirt, of which every single button was done up. And my hair was in a crappy ponytail. So there was that as well. :$

Costumes
Here are some of the costumes I saw today:
- witch
- luffa
- Mario
- Luigi
- fairy
- Bananas in Pyjamas
- mime
- Edward Cullen (it was kind of scary how good of a costume it was. He looked like RobPattz, had shimmer stuff all over his face and dark circles around his eyes. He had a grey dress shirt and jeans on and he carried an apple around all day. He even kept this pained expression on his face!)
- Captain Crunch
- mermaid (the daughter of one of the employees of Renison)
- scarecrow
- gypsy
- cat
- angel
- Isabella from Phineas and Ferb
And me, as Mary Poppins! I am pretty happy with how my costume turned out. (Even thought it ended up costing me way more than I thought it would).
My floor also decorated:
It was hard to take picture because it was so dark. But here's what we did: we covered the walls and doors with garbage bags, hung cobwebs, a scary ghoul thing that moves when you open the door, bats, little ghost guys, bones on the floor, etc. We covered the lights with red tissue paper so everything glows red. Then we took red paint and put handprints on the garbage bags. My favourite part is we got cards that make sound and put them in the door hinges, so now when you open the door, you get sound effects! One screams and makes the duh-duh-duuuuh sound. The other one is the Harry Potter theme song, which I'm not really sure how that's related, but whatever. Oh, and we have a motion activated talking pumpkin :)

Full Night
A few days ago, I overheard some people talking in the caf about a game involving zombies. I assumed it was some sort of video game. However, near the end of their conversation, they started mentioning buildings on campus, calling them safe zones. It was then that I realized that they were talking about a real life game that they were planning on playing. And they’re playing it alright. Right now. They have been, all day. There are people running around the entire campus with bandanas tied around their limbs. Guns strapped to their backs. And long strings of socks hanging from their hands...? From what I’ve seen and overheard, there are humans and zombies. I would assume that if you get caught by a zombie, you become one. It was funny because you hear all these people casually talking about all the zombies around campus. :)
Some friends and I went out for sushi for dinner. We were going to go to this one place, but when we arrived, we discovered that it was going through renovations. Luckily, there was another sushi place down the road. So we went there. Now, I don’t know how the rest of you handle all-you-can-eat sushi situations, but when my friends (from home) and I go out, this is how we do it: we all kind of say what we want to order, then when it comes, we just eat whatever. However, when my friends (from university) and I went, I employed the same order a bunch of stuff for everyone. However, two of my friends only ate what they ordered. They practically refused to eat anything else. So I was stuffing my face to avoid the you-didn’t-eat-everything-you-ordered charges because I had ordered for everyone. Also, we had a time constraint because we were going to see a movie afterwards. So while it was good, not the most pleasant sushi outing I’ve ever had. I saw the Fifth Estate. Mainly I was seeing it because Benedict Cumberbatch was in it. I enjoyed the movie. It is definitely a “smart” movie. You needed to pay attention. I think I would have enjoyed and followed it better had I a greater knowledge and understanding of WikiLeaks. I was really tired when I got back to res, and was planning on going to bed, despite it only being 10:30. But then my friend asked if I wanted to watch Iron Man 3, and I couldn’t very well turn that down, now could I?

Library
I applied for a Waterloo Public Library card since the university libraries are basically all academic books. I needed a piece of ID that had my proof of address on it. Despite all of the paperwork involved in applying to university and residence, there was not a single piece of paper that had the Rension address on it. So I figured I would ask reception if they had anything I could use. They didn't, but they sent me to Karen, the Head of Housing (or something like that) to see if she had anything. She was busy, so I figured I would check my mail box, which is across from her office. And I had mail! It was a belated birthday card. It wasn't until I was cutting out the stamp on the envelope that I realized the obvious. This envelope had my name and address on it! So, armed with my envelope I headed off to the library. Despite the chill in the air, I figured I would walk there and get some exercise. Only to discover that the road I needed to take was under construction. So I started walking through a park, hoping that it would stay parallel with the road and get me to where I needed to be. And while on this adventure of not really knowing where I was, what building do I see but the activities complex where OFLO2013 was held? Grateful for the familiar surroundings, I got my bearings and made my way to the library. The "Waterloo Public Library" signs helped, too. And after everything I went through to get the ID, she didn't even ask to see it. It was one of those scenarios where you know that if you take an umbrella it won't rain but if you don't, it will rain. Get what I'm saying? Anyways, I got a book out of it all so that's what really matters I guess. On the way back I saw a costume store so I popped in. I got a hat for my Mary Poppins costume. I'm still working on finding a skirt....
