How many of you knew that they plants were potatoes?
I keep imagining you guys laughing at me as you read my post, thinking that you don't know what the plants are when you actually do. So if you could just let me know...that'd be great.

That's It. I'm Offically Done.
High school, that is. Well, I was done yesterday. But same thing. It all seems so surreal. I am going up to camp tomorrow and staying up there until the end of week one, which isn't until July 5th! SO long. But it is going to be so much fun! Just got back from having sushi with some friends, some of which I will probably not see in a very long time. It's hard not to think of this time as the end of everything
It is the end of
1. High School
2. Seeing most of my friends every day at school
3. Youth Group
4 Sewing (kind of...at least regularly)
5. Scrapbooking (I'm taking a SMASH journal with me to university, so that's kind of scrapbooking....)
6. Living at Home
7. I suppose #6 also means no more allowance...
8. Seeing my family everyday
9. Having my laundry done for me (that's a big one... Shout out to my mom for all the years she has been doing my laundry and hardly ever complaining)
10. Parents paying for sushi
It's going to be a tough life.
And I know, "I should be thinking of all the beginnings!" Yeah well here's what I think:
It's the beginning of
1. Living with a stranger
2. Going to a brand new school knowing nobody
3. Living away from home for good
4. Eating cafeteria food every stinking meal
5. Realizing how much everything actually costs
6. Not having a vehicle to drive (or be driven around in)
7. Having a room half the size of what I'm used to
8. Did I mention living with a stranger?
9. Having to share a bathroom with the entire dorm floor
10. Having to pay for textbooks
This doesn't seem all too bright. I don't know what you guys are thinking with all this "new beginnings" crap.
Nah, I'm just joking (kind of). I know that it's a big change but change is good. And I'm so blessed to have my parents supporting me along the way. But you also have to see how there are some down sides to all this.

Recursion
A while ago, (well, a loooong time ago), I was bored and so I looked
up funny things you can do with Google. You know, like when you search
Google Gravity and hit "I'm Feeling Lucky". Or if you search "do a
barrel roll". One of my personal favourites is "askew". When I was
searching through the various tricks, I came across that if you typed
"recursion" into Google, it will say, "Did you mean: recursion ?"
But it would be spelt the same way. At first (and up until now) I
thought Google had just made a mistake. But now that I'm studying for
computer science, in which I learned about recursion methods, I finally
understand what Google was doing.
Needless to say, I love Google.
re·cur·sion
/riˈkərZHən/
Noun
- The repeated application of a recursive procedure or definition.
- A recursive definition.
Needless to say, I love Google.

It's Over
Today was my last day of high school EVER. I can't believe it. This last semester has flown by. It doesn't feel like it's done. Partially because it's actually not, I still have to write exams. And that is the reason why I am refusing to let myself believe that it's actually ever. Get back to me on Monday and I'll say differently. I don't know if you remember last year I talked about how I was making Battleship for my computer science class? And how in the end it didn't really work? Anyways, this year for our final project, we did Reversi (aka Othello). This year we actually got it work. It didn't have some of the features we had hoped for, but at least the main game actually works, which I am extremely happy about. After exams, I head up to camp. Then after camp, off to university. Then after that, a job/career. You can throw a family in there too. Then after that retirement and grandkids. And of course the inevitable death. (Unless they've invented life preservation or something. Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think I would want to live longer than an average life really...well, to 105) Wow. my life is basically done. Haha. But seriously. I can't believe how quickly everything is going. My dad painted the driveway today, and for some reason he used this stick:
I'm presuming to stir the paint? The better question is, where did he get the stick? Did he cut it off our tree because he thought, "Gee, I really need something to stir this paint with. Ah, look. A tree." We will never know...
I had a party the other day, and one of my friends randomly brought flowers, and I have to say, some of these roses were the most photogenic roses I have ever seen:
And this is a wasp repeller thingy. I'm not really sure why I was taking pictures of it, but I LOVE how this one turned out:
One last thing, my friend told me about this new movie that's coming out, and I'm so excited. It looks like it's going to be a great movie, funny too!
I have to admit, at the beginning when it said the biggest movie ever assembled, I thought after that is was going to say "... IN LEGO". Ah well.

Heather's Guide to Writing Out Lists of Numbers
Welcome to Heather's Guide to Writing Out Lists of Numbers! First off, I would like to thank you for joining us, and reducing the stupidity in the world. Secondly, this guide is not for the faint-hearted and is meant to be taken seriously. The guidelines outlined in this guide should be used at all times, regardless of the situation.
With that said, let's get started!
ALWAYS REMEMBER:
*Numbers should always be listed in ascending order.*
1. If you need to list multiple numbers, none of which are consecutive, it should be done as such:
1, 4, 6, 8.
A comma between each number is all that is necessary.
2. If you need to list consecutive numbers, time can be saved by doing it as such:
1-5.
A dash between two numbers indicates that each number in between those numbers is to be recognized.
3. If there are only two consecutive numbers, they should be listed without the dash, because there is nothing between the numbers:
1, 2, 5.
4. If you need to list two sets of consecutive numbers, the two previous methods can be combined:
1-4, 7-9.
As you can see, we have two sets of consecutive numbers separated by a comma.
5. If you need to list consecutive numbers and individual numbers, it can be done as such:
1-3, 5, 7, 9-11.
A comma separates each entry, whether it be a individual number or a set of consecutive numbers.
All the previous examples can be applied to letters as well. For example, for a part of a question:
1a-e, 2-5.
Note: There should be nothing between the number and the letter.
It's as simple as that! Thank you for reading Heather's Guide to Writing Out Lists of Numbers! To help you avoid making errors, we have provided some common mistakes so that you can be on the lookout for them.
Common Mistakes: DO NOT DO THESE!
1. When numbers are not separated:
12345.
1 2 3 4 5.
This SHOULD be written as:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
But we know that we should never list multiple consecutive numbers like this. So it SHOULD be written like this:
1-5.
2. When numbers are unnecessarily written out multiple times:
1a, 1b, 1c, 1d.
This SHOULD be written as:
1a-d.
3. When a set of consecutive numbers is written out, then an individual number is written, but the individual number fits in with the consecutive numbers:
1-3, 4.
This SHOULD be written as:
1-4.
Thanks again for reading Heather's Guide to Writing Out Lists of Numbers and reducing both redundancy and stupidity in the world!

Sewing
This is the latest thing I've completed in sewing (which is surprising because I haven't been to sewing in about a month because I've had other things going on. Hopefully I can make it at least once more. I've been debating going during the summer. I didn't do that last year because I wanted to sleep in, but I might decide to show up late to sewing some Saturdays. I don't know, we'll see how that goes. I've given this quilt to my sister. I have too many quilts myself, and I think the colours match her personality (and her room).
And this is a picture of the sunset on Saturday up at camp. I was having difficulties with the flash/exposure time. I really need to look into how to use settings other than full-auto on my camera.
I've cropped out the parts I didn't like. (Like the over-exposed tree trunks).
And as always with sunsets, by the time you get your camera, the sky has changed and never seems to have the colours you were intending to take a picture of in the first place.
And I know it's kind of blurry, but I really like this one with the clouds:

Coincidence
I have a daily quote calender and on Friday the quote was:
"My fellow graduates, the answer is...I don't know."
- Lelaina Pierce (Winona Ryder) in Reality Bites; screenplay by Helen Childress
What a coincidence, because I graduated on Friday!
On a completely different note, this is one of my favourite ads:
I love the two people in the back near the end. I also think it's a great message. I have hesitation trusting companies when they claim something. "Never Frozen!" I think "Yeah right". It's not that I don't trust them, but... Nope. That's exactly it, I don't trust them. I don't mean to, it's just the society I grew up in, I guess.

Pine Nut
So I was on tumblr and I saw this gif set:
And I was like yeeaaaaaa Princess Diaries!
But then I was like, HOLD UP. Is that ChrisFine Pine?
IT IS.
My day just got a little better.

Fearless
Ok, so about the book series that is 36 books long, it was published starting in 2000. The books that I'm reading right now though are a recent publication, as in earlier this year. But the book just mentioned Liam Hemsworth and LMFAO (the band). So I'm a little confused. Because although they may have existed 12 years ago, they were definitely not mention-in-a-book worthy. So I don't know if that for the republication they updated some of the terms to seem more 'in' or what. The sad thing is that there is currently no Fearless 3 (the next three books). So I started looking for just the next book (#7). But the library doesn't have it. People on Amazon are selling it for $0.01 but the shipping is like 5 bucks. BUT THE BOOK WAS LEFT ON A CLIFFHANGER (of sorts). ANNNND I also found out that there is a sort of spin off series called Fearless FBI. IT NEVER ENDS.

Photo Shoot!
Sometimes I will think to myself, that would make a good picture. But then the next thought is usually I'm too lazy to go get my camera. Luckily for you, today was not one of those days! However, once I do actually manage to get my camera out, I figure I might as well take a ton of pictures because it's probably going to be a while before my camera is out again. So I take lots of pictures. And it's a whole other story to actually getting around to posting them. Or even getting them onto the computer. But today is your extra lucky day, because I have gotten out my camera, taken (lots of) pictures, put them on the computer, AND I'm going to post them. All within the hour. I almost can't handle it. Hopefully you can. :) Now, in my recent abundance of free time, I have taken to attempting some of the DIYs I repin on Pinterest. (That's another surprising thing for today: who actually attemps the things they repin? Mostly when I repin DIYs it's like, wow, this looks cool! I'll repin it. But I have no intention of actually attempting it.) Anyways, I did this yesterday:
I also started another one of an owl. I do the hammering outside and this little guy was keeping me company:
(After I took that last picture there, he fell off the edge...). Funny story about this guy: he was hanging around out garden a couple weeks ago and at that point he couldn't fly. (And he can still only fly very short distances). But his mom was hanging around and looking for food for him. But he would be squawking and squawking demanding food. His mom would feed him and then go get some more. But as soon as he couldn't see his mom, he would stop chirping. As soon as he could see his mom again, the squawking would start again. Talk about knowing when to use your energy and when it's a lost cause. :) Baby bird with an attitude. Anyways, when I went outside today to do some hammering, I was happy to see that he was still alive (because often/sometimes baby birds don't make it) and he kept me entertained. He was hanging out in the veggie garden. Well, I say hanging out. More like running away from me while I used him for a photo shoot. Hence the falling off the ledge. (No animals were harmed in the making of this blog post). And since I was taking lots of pictures, I decided I would give you a little challenge. Can you guess what plant this is?
Any ideas? Any at all? How about now:
Do you think you have it? I'll give you another photo:
That one's an aerial. Can you tell now? OK, one more picture:
This is the ideal angle and zoom for trying to figure out what this is. Anybody got it? Well, hopefully you did, because I'm not going to tell you what it is. Hahaha. This is about as mean as I get.
We also have a non-veggie garden. Well, multiple non-veggie gardens, including a window box. And I am loving the flowers my dad/mom chose this year for the flower box:
(And every picture hereafter was taken on manual focus. This may not seem like a big acomplishment to the more practiced photographers out there, but this is the first time I've ever tried manual focus and I think I did pretty well)
So pretty. I especially love the pink and purple together.
(When I say non-veggie garden, I mean a flower bed (obviously) but I just realized that calling it a non-veggie garden wasn't exactly normal...)
This is our fence, where it has been continually beat and banged by the lawn mower. I thought it made for a cool picture:
And this knot is pretty cool. It's almost a neon colour. At least in person it is.
More pretty flowers!
At first I didn't think the focusing was going so well with these itty bitty flowers, but now I like the way it just focuses on a little group of them. It forces you to look closer at the photo and appreciate them more.
This plant is my favourite non-veggie plant (I will now and forever more refer them as non-veggie plants) that we have:
It almost looks like seaweed! (it's not). (Seaweed, that is).
I was going to play another game with you, but you're brain might still be too exhausted from the first one, so I thought I would give you a break. And also, I wouldn't be able to tell you what this plant is called whether I wanted to or not. The reason I like it so much is because it's so soft and fuzzy. :)
This is just me trying out the manual focus:
And my last set of photos for today:
This is my other little friend who is constantly hanging out around our chives.
Ok.
That's it.
That's all the photos.
Haha, and the award for longest blog post ever goes to...
And this is probably where you thought I would tell you what that plant was. You were wrong. :) Turns out I can be even more mean.
This is where I'm going to tell you what that plant is.
JK. Man, I am SO mean.
(I just realized that what if you do know what the plant is and now I'm just making myself look like a fool going on like this?)
