Sibling Rivalry

I realized today that people read my blog.  I mean, I know that people read it, but I never thought about the fact that you would then know everything I talked about.  Like when I'm talking to a reader of my blog, I'll talk about something I'd blogged about, not realizing that they already knew that.  Then they'll say, "Yeah, I read that on your blog."  And it's like, what? I just never thought about people reading my blog and then actually remembering what I said.  Anywho, yeah.  My sister is currently watching TV (a really stupid show about 9 year-old's dancing like slaves. Not dancing like slaves, but the teacher is unreasonably strict) but I'm also listening to music.  She's mad at me, but I'm not turning my music off.  But it's making it hard to write with all this noise going on.  But I'm still not turning my music off.  Because that's what siblings do to each other. And now she's freaking out about something and looking at me like I should know what's going.  Obviously I don't.  Wow, she keeps laughing and it's really annoying.

Lists

I added something to my bucket list today: visit the Van Gogh Museum.  Problem is, I don't know where the rest of my bucket list is.  I'm sure it's in a notebook somewhere buried deep in my desk or something.  I really need to come up with a place that I will put all my lists and they will stay there. Because what I am doing now clearly isn't working.  I just find the closest piece of paper and start writing.  Have you ever had a list of your lists? The reason I bring up the Van Gogh Museum is that I just found out that my BFFLAAT will be going there on her trip to Europe.  It's a trip run through the school and a couple of my other friends are going as well.  It is going to be a very quiet week while they're gone :)  My (DW-introducing-Sherlock-loving) friend loves Van Gogh's work, as do I.  So for that reason I decided I would buy her this picture:
It's the TARDIS blowing up.  Not that that is a good thing, but it's still pretty awesome.  It's two of our favourite things in one: DW and Van Gogh.  It's from the episode that I was talking about yesterday with Van Gogh.  He paints this because he says he saw it happening. (It doesn't actually).

We Are Small

My dad just showed me this site:
Scale of the Universe
Pretty amazing, huh?  Did you notice that Pluto isn't that much bigger than Italy? It really puts our size and everything into perspective.  Not to say that we're not important, but it makes you feel pretty insignificant, doesn't it? It makes me think of this DW quote:

It's from an episode where the Doctor goes to visit Van Gogh.  Amy (the Doctor's companion) believes they prevented him from killing himself so she hopes that when they come back to the present there will be more paintings by him, but there's not.  Amy becomes sad, and then the Doctor says that quote.  ('his' is referring to Van Gogh).  It's one of my favourite quotes.  My (DW-introducing-Sherlock-loving) friend did a sketch of the Doctor holding Amy's face and put this quote alongside it. It was so good I actually wanted to buy it from her.  But she loved it too so she kept it.  I'll have to ask her for a picture of it.

THE HUNGER GAMES (not actually, but yea)

That's Myra in the front shaking hands.  The baby in the back is just the sheet folded to look like a baby.
Due to the excitement of THE HUNGER GAMES, I forgot to tell you about the play that I went to see on Thursday.  Based on the true story of Myra Bennett, Tempting Providence follows a nurse who has just moved to Newfoundland from England after the war.  She came upon hearing that medical help was needed.  The play started running 10 years ago (you think it would get tired...ha ha ha, get it?), and the same actor has played Myra from the beginning.  The two men (there are only 4 actors) have been with it for 9 out of 10 years.  The other girl has only been with them for a year.  Another interesting point is that the play is preformed with 6 props: 4 chairs, a table and a sheet.  Originally it was just done with the chairs and the table, but the sheet was added in there at some point.  It is amazing to watch the actors manipulate the objects into whatever they need their surroundings to be, whether it be a cradle with a baby or a garden with a fence.  Also, the actors never leave the stage.  There is a carpet that everything happens on.  If their character isn't needed (all of them except for Myra play multiple characters) they just stand at the edge of the carpet.  I think I will most likely just forget about this play due to THE HUNGER GAMES.  My friend went to go see THE HUNGER GAMES over the weekend, so I finally had somebody to talk about it with who wasn't there with me.  Another one of my friends is planning on seeing THE HUNGER GAMES tomorrow, so I will be able to talk to her about THE HUNGER GAMES then as well.  Saying THE HUNGER GAMES is so much fun. :)  Most likely thing to happen though is that THE HUNGER GAMES will fade into the background after a few weeks.  Maybe THE HUNGER GAMES will come back again when the DVD comes out, but other than that, you probably won't hear about THE HUNGER GAMES until November of next year.  That's when CATCHING FIRE, the sequel to THE HUNGER GAMES, comes out.

Hunger Games

So like I said yesterday, The Huger Games movie was AMAZING!!!  The casting was perfect.  One of my favourite characters is Cinna.  Also Rue, those were both cast perfectly.  Well worth going to see at midnight.  It's cool to think that nobody has seen it before you.  Although, that's not what I was thinking Friday during school. Before every class I got a wave of energy (when I say energy, not as in hyper, but as in enough to make it to my next class) but by half way through the class I would crash.  I had a headache (not surprisingly).  The hardest part though was in T and T, we were watching a (boring, uneventful, droning on) movie about Europe, and I so badly wanted to fall asleep.  I almost did, at one point. My BFFLAAT (who has T and T with me) was complaining about being tired, and I was like, don't even go there, because she didn't show up at school for the morning, she got to sleep in whereas I had 4 hours of sleep.  We were kind of loud so our T and T teacher asked why we were so tired, so we told him we went to the Hunger Games midnight showing.  Before I left T and T, my teacher looked at me very seriously (which means he's really serious, because he is a funny, easy-going guy) and Said, "Heather, get some sleep." Clearly I looked just as tired as I felt.  But, again, totally worth it! I went to sewing this morning, all ready to finish my quilt only to realize once I got there that I had forgotten my quilt at home :( I was a little pissed off at myself.  So I made donuts instead.  Not real donuts, I sewed them.  They're pretty cool.
These aren't the ones I made, but it's the same thing basically.  I didn't sew the little beads on, instead I used fabric paint to accessorize my donuts.  Wow, you don't hear that every day, accessorize my donuts. :)

Hunger Games

Why does it have to be so nice out? Don't get me wrong, I love this nice weather.  The problem is is that it's probably not going to stay.  It's most likely going to get cold again.  It's getting everybody excited just to disappoint them.  If it were to stay like this honestly I'd be a little scared that it's getting this warm this early (you know, with global warming and all that).  I finished my homework once I got home from school, so I've had the evening to my self.  Even better, everybody else has something going on so I get the house to myself as well.  I made a few hemp bracelets, getting myself ready for camp! (That's one of the main things girls to during their free time at camp: make bracelets).  They are pretty impressive, if I do say so myself.  Simple, but they look pretty and they're the kind you see in stores that you could pay $2 for.  I also did some reading.  I've paused reading my other book to reread The Hunger Games before I go see the MIDNIGHT PREMIERE!!! I've only done something like this once before, the release of Breaking Dawn. But I only went because it was part of one of my friends birthday party.  (ok, I admit, I was pretty excited about it.)  Song of the day (wow, it's been awhile...) is Not Meant to Be - Theory of A Deadman.  (I'm too lazy to link it).
Now before you accuse me of being inappropriate, take a closer look.  For those of you who don't know, the man holding the poster is Josh Hutcherson, the actor playing Peeta in The Hunger Games movie.  Peeta is in love with Katniss in the books.  So you know how sometimes people will combine the names of people going out (like Zanessa - Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens).  In this case, I think I would of gone with Katneta, but to each their own.  :D

Google

You HAVE to check this out:
http://mrdoob.com/projects/chromeexperiments/google_gravity/
Wave your mouse around a little bit. You can pick up the pieces and move them around too.  Better yet, type something into the search bar and click on Google Search (if you can find it :)).  Pretty cool, huh?
Now type "barrel roll" into Google (the normal one).  Also try "askew".  Isn't that so cool?
Any ways, I figured out what √dude means, it's 'radical dude'.  Hahaha very funny.  It's just one of those things that you laugh at because it's so sad. My BFFLAAT got me a Domo stuffed animal wearing a panda suit, it's so cute I love it! It's so fluffy I'm gonna die! (Despicable Me, great movie).  I have a couple things due tomorrow so I should probably get going on those...

I found a ASCII art maker online, so I thought I'd try it out:

  _ _ U _____ u _ _____ _ _ U _____ u ____
 |'| |'|\| ___"|/U /"\ u |_ " _| |'| |'|\| ___"|/U | _"\ u
/| |_| |\| _|" \/ _ \/ | | /| |_| |\| _|" \| |_) |/
U| _ |u| |___ / ___ \ /| |\ U| _ |u| |___ | _ <
 |_| |_| |_____| /_/ \_\ u |_|U |_| |_| |_____| |_| \_\
 //   \\ <<   >>  \\    >> _// \\_ //   \\ <<   >>   //   \\_
(_") ("_)__) (__)(__) (__)__) (__)_") ("_)__) (__) (__) (__)

ASCII Art is art that uses the characters on a keyboard to make pictures. Just Google it and
you will see what I am talking about.

Facebook

NOT ALL OF US!!!!!!! GEEZ
I wish I was on Pinterest though :(
OMG I hate Facebook with a passion!!!!!!!!!! (also companies who require Facebook for some of their services. ) Cause I am part of a quickly dying species: I DON'T HAVE FACEBOOK.  Whenever people ask if I saw someones post or update or ask if I liked what they liked, I say I don't have Facebook.  Then it's all "What?!?! Really? Wow... You should get Facebook."  Yeah, thanks for the suggestion.  Did you know that the average person spends over 800 minutes on Facebook a month? That's like half an hour PER DAY.  Ridiculous.  What a waste of time. (Not that I don't waste time on other websites).  Let's look at Pinterest for example.  I just found out about it today and thought it looked cool so I wanted to sign up.  First of all, you have to be invited to join (which is how I found out about it, because I was offered an invitation) or you are put on a waiting list.  So using my invitation, I clicked on sign in.  Only to find, you guessed it, you sign in though Facebook..  Or twitter.  But guess what else? I DON'T HAVE TWITTER.  Oh, the agony.  So this is why, ladies and gentlemen (if any gentlemen read this...) I am extremely p*ssed off at Facebook and Pineterest right now.  Whenever Facebook comes up with my friends, they tell me not to get Facebook because they waste so much time on it and it's just a bunch of drama.  Now you know why I don't have it in the first place.  I'm on Facebook. Its hard not to be, really.  Cause my friends have Facebook, and they have picture with me in them, and they post those pictures.  Another reason my friends say I shouldn't get Facebook is because they would have to RE-TAG ME IN ALL THEIR PHOTOS (<-read over-dramatically).  THE PAIN MY FRIENDS WOULD HAVE TO SUFFER if I got Facebook. (note: that was a sarcasm). Ugh.  My generation sucks.  We are so unable to deal with our emotions and talk to people.  Older people, treasure what you have. (hehe older people)(not that I'm making fun of you or anything...)
Also, my math teacher has a sign in her room that looks like this: √dude
I don't know what it means...it's supposed to be funny, like a joke or pun or something, but I don't get it.  If you know it or figure it out, lemme know.

Reality Check (also my 100th post!)

I'M BAAACCCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure you missed me :)
Had a great March Break, lots of exciting things happened! Like a medical evacuation from the middle of the ocean using a US Coast Guard blackhawk helicopter!!!!! Oh yea, good times, good times.  Spent 7 hours in an airport yesterday, not fun (but not as bad as I thought it would be).  Spent today shopping in Detroit, got myself a few things.  Now back to reality, not fun.  As you probably already know from my ranting, I have multiple projects due this week, I'll have to get going on those... Hope you all had a good march break, whatever you did.
(AGY is Anti-Gravity Yoga.  I have all my short forms listed on the side if you ever need help deciphering what I'm sure is not an easy to read blog due to my rambling.)
I can't remember if I've used this photo before... but it's funny because Matt Smith(who plays DW) doesn't have any eyebrows.  (These are all actors who are in DW and Sherlock and some other things too.)
See? no eyebrows!!!

March Break

Just got back from AGY, I've got a bit of a headache now.  But it's nowhere close to the migraine I had yesterday.  While I was writing a math test. Not good.  I was shaking and lightheaded and couldn't concentrate.  Then after school I went to get a pedicure.  Probably the worst pedicure ever because I couldn't enjoy it because of the pounding in my head.  Oh well.  I am a bit panicked, because I have three (THREE!!!) projects due the week after the march break.  And I'm not doing it over the march break, so honestly I don't know when it's going to get done.  ARGH.  I'm guessing the stress has something to do with my headache.  Oh well. Tomorrow's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then its March Break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just found this picture on the internet (as I do with all my pictures, all the credit is not mine) and I laughed because what does a penguin have to do with March Break? And I think those are icicles coming down from the words...

Dread and Hope at the Same Time

Okie dokie.  Not much going on, socially wise.  On the other hand, school wise, there is waaaay to much going on.  I have a quiz in T and T tomorrow, a test in math tomorrow, a biology test on thursday, a computer science test on the Tuesday we get back (March Break is the only redeeming factor about school right now), a 4 page biology report due the Tuesday back, and a T and T project due the Wednesday back.  ARGH! PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully, I can cross two off at the end of tomorrow.  But it's still so much! Only 4 days till March Break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think you understand my excitement.  :)
This is a picture of Sherlock just before he jumps *cringe*.  He has just told Watson that he is a fake (they're talking on phones, cause Watson is on the ground and Sherlock is on the roof); he made Moriarty up to make him look good.  When Watson tries to contradict him with times he rattled off tons of information that nobody else saw, Sherlock say's to him, "Nobody could be that clever." It broke my heart.  I almost cried.  And I'm not ashamed of it.

Busy

Due to the positive feed back re the background, I'm going to keep it this way.  But it will take some getting used to.  Now before you comment something like, "well, it's YOUR blog, you can make it however you want.", I'm not that kind of person.  If you guys like it, then I'll keep it to make you happy.  Not that I'm saying I will follow your every command or anything, but for something as simple as my blog background, it doesn't matter to me.  Went to see The Lorax today, it was good.  There were songs in it, almost like a musical, which was a surprise.  By the end though, it was getting to be a bit much.  I was thinking, "OK, that's one song too many."  Other than that, it was good.  I mean, they turned a 20 page book (pages which were mostly pictures, might I add) into a full length movie, so it was a bit slow.  (It's like the Little Engine That Could all over again.) Anywho... not much else to say.  It's going to be a busy week.   This is Benedict Cumberpatch from an interview he did about Sherlock.  It's pretty funny how he says it, that font doesn't do him justice.

Sunday Morning....WAY Too Early

Yes, yes, yes. It's still the same blog, there's nothing wrong with your bookmarks (or at least I like to think that I'm in your bookmarks).  So what do you think? Yeah, I don't like it either.  Maybe it's just because I'm so used to the other layout/background.  Oh well, it won't be staying like this, just thought I'd let you see it.  Just bought a couple books with some money I got for Christmas, but I don't want to read them until I finish the series I'm on already on (Wolves of Mercy Falls).  Last night was good.  Hung out with my friends, ate way too much... I'm gonna go see The Lorax with my BFFLAAT later today, can't wait! My Sherlock-DW friend showed me this blog completely dedicated to Benedict Cumberpatch's (he plays Sherlock) fashion mistakes (with guest appearances from Martin Freeman who plays Watson). It is absolutely hilarious!  At least, I think so. I mean, there's nothing wrong with his costumes or anything, it's when he's not on the job that has some problems. Been spending some time on Goodreads...I have nothing better to do.  I should probably exercise or something....nah......but I should.....Ugh.  Today is such a Monday.  Sorry, inside joke :)

Baking

So close. SO CLOSE!!!!!! I really thought that I would be able to get my quilt finished this morning, but alas, that didn't happen.  I just have to put the binding on now.  I'll put a picture up once I'm done.  Which won't be for a while now cause I won't be at sewing for the next couple of weeks.  So in reality it might be another month before its done :(  Oh well.  Just made a Chocolate Zucchini Loaf for my friend's birthday.  (You can't tell that there's zucchini in it, but the zucchini keeps it really moist, it's really good.) I hope she likes it, she said she wanted me to bake her something healthy (she's a bit of a health nut), so this is my attempt at healthy.  It's from a cookbook that's supposed to be all low-fat, etc so it should be good.  I have to admit, its smelling pretty good.  I have to make her a card too.  Not want, need.  It was specially requested from the birthday girl herself that I make her a pretty card.  And it has to be pretty.  (I don't know if I should be insulted by the fact that she emphasized pretty, is she trying to say some of my cards are not pretty?!)  Anyways, not much else going on this weekend for me.

Quotes

I don't know if you knew, but I love quotes.  Especially ones that make me smile or laugh or bring back memories.  (Kind of like inside jokes).  Like this one: "Do you think you could survive for just a few minutes without showing off?" - Judge to Sherlock.  Or
John Watson: What are we doing here, Sherlock? Seriously, what?
Sherlock Holmes: I don't know.
John Watson: Here to see the Queen?
[Mycroft Holmes walks in]
Sherlock Holmes: Oh, apparently yes.
[They fall about laughing whilst Mycroft stares disapprovingly]
Mycroft Holmes: Just once, can you two behave like grown-ups?
John Watson: We solve crimes. I blog about it, and he forgets his pants. I wouldn't hold out too much hope.
:D
