52. Do you think musicals are cheesy?
Nope! I love them. Well, maybe not love. I enjoy them. I especially like the soundtracks.

QOTD #51
51. Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?
The yearbook rep on my floor had to take headshots for the Renison yearbook, but she's not a professional photographer, so I don't know if it counts. She wasn't even taking the pictures portrait style, she was taking them landscape. I'm pretty sure for a picture to be a portrait, it would be good to start in portrait orientation. Ah well. I guess the last time I had a professional take my photo was at Grade 12 grad. Wow, that seems so long ago. I think at the end of the year I'm going to make a list of all the things that happened to me. If I can remember...

Happy Boxing Day
We went boxing day shopping, and it took us forever to get a parking spot. But I got some good stuff. Old Navy was buy one, get one for a loonie, so I got a shirt with anchors on it and a sweater. We got the Dutch Blitz expansion pack, so now you can play with 8 players, instead of just 4. I also got some moisturizer and body spray. And just now, I GOT SHERLOCK SEASON 1 FOR $20. Now, why am I so excited about season 1, you may ask? Well, for starters, it only cost 20 bucks, when normally it's around $40. And now I can watch it countless times, which I do with my season 2 DVDs. And what kind of fan am I if I don't own the DVDs? Also, season 3 airs in 5 DAYS AND I'M SO EXCITED. There was a mini episode released on Christmas Eve called Many Happy Returns, which was awesome!!! I can't even handle it right now. It was revealed that Anderson, someone who everybody hated (including Sherlock himself), has now lost his job because he still believes that Sherlock is alive. AGH. I can't wait! Also, a new Doctor Who episode aired yesterday, but I'll have to wait until I get back to watch it. But now I can't go on tumblr or anything because there might be spoilers :(
49. Do you dance in the car?
Uh, I think dancing in a car would be difficult. But I've probably at some point done some sort of shimmy in the seat...
50. Ever used a bow and arrow?
Yup! At FCC. Archery is actually something that I wish I could do more of and become better at. I think it's so much fun, but I'm not very good at it.

QOTD #47 & 48
47. Who was the last person to call you?
I have absolutely no idea. The last person I talked to on the phone though was a family friend.
48. Do you sing in the shower?
Sometimes. When I'm in res, I play music to listen to in the shower. I tried doing it at home, but the shower is too loud and drowns out the music :(
Also, Happy Christmas Eve!

Gingerbread (QOTD #45 & 46)
I finally got around to loading my pictures onto my laptop. Well, I was trying some stuff out and I ran out of room on my memory card, so I was forced to, but it's all the same to you. If the other thing I'm working on turns out, I'll show you that too. But now, gingerbread!
Might I say, the best gingerbread house we've ever had. And it was made from scratch completely by me :)
45. If you could, would you take back your last kiss?
.....I wish I had a last kiss to begin with...
46. Did you talk to someone until you fell asleep last night?
If the thoughts in my head count as "someone", then yes.

Exam (& QOTD #44)
My exam yesterday was 70 multiple choice questions. The answers consisted of:
a) no doubt in my mind that this is the correct answer
b) there are two answers that could possibly be correct, I'm going to go with my gut instinct on this one
c) I can remember talking about this, but I can't remember what about it. I'm going to choose the most logical answer
d) We definitely did not talk about this. This really is just flat out guessing.
But other than that, I think it went pretty well. I got 90% on that 250 word essay I had to write. Too bad it's only worth 5%. I was finished the exam within an hour. We had been told that beforehand that we would have 2.5 hours, but he said we shouldn't need more than an hour and 45 mins. Had I known that before hand, I would've been able to make it home on the bus last night. Oh well. I watched some movies and took advantage of the unlimited internet. I'm just glad to finally be able to say that I'm done.
44. Do you tan in the nude?
No. And even if it was one of those nude beaches, I still wouldn't.

QOTD #42 & 43
42. Did you hug/kiss one of your parents today?
No....I can't either.
Wow, now I'm really sad and feel like a horrible person.
43. Ever embarrass yourself in front of a crush?
Well. My crush was like the stereotypical cool guy, and, as you guys know, I am not very "cool" or "in". So basically being myself around him was embarrassing, cause he would be talking and going on about all the latest happenings and I would have no idea what he was talking about. And the fact that I basically don't know how to interact with boys.

Skating (QOTD # 41)
I went skating today with my friends today, and it was so much fun! We want to go skating at all the outdoor skating rinks this winter. I am not a great skater, but I really enjoy it. I fell (only once!) but I must've landed on my hand, because it really hurts right now. Like, I can't bend my wrist very much before it's really painful. And so I'm sitting here typing this post like John Watson:
(Although, through my searches for a gif of this, I've learned that it's more of a Martin Freeman, rather than a John Watson thing). Speaking of Watson, I found out that the friend I went skating with has become a fan of Sherlock! (In my mind I'm thinking, yeeees we've caught another one!!!)
41. When was the last time you ate a cupcake?
Oh, wow, I don't know. Well, I had a mini cake late November, so I'm going to count that as a cupcake :)

QOTD #40
40. Why did you kiss the last person you kissed?
Well, as previously mentioned, the last person I kissed was my mom. And that was because she was leaning in for a goodnight kiss, and so I gave her that goodnight kiss.

"What Would You Do?" by Bastille
(originally by City High)
[Verse 1:]
Boys and girls, wanna hear a true story?
Saturday night was at this real wild party
There was liquor overflowin' the cup,
About 5 or 6 strippers trying to work for a buck.
So I took one girl outside with me,
Her name was Londy, she went to Junior High with me,
I said, "Why you up in there dancing for cash?
I guess a whole lot's changed since I seen you last."
She said...
[Chorus:]
What would you do if your son was at home
Crying all alone
On the bedroom floor,
Cause he's hungry and the only way to feed him is to
Sleep with a man for a little bit of money?
And his daddy's gone in and out of lock down,
I ain't got a job now,
He's just smokin' rock now,
So for you this is just a good time
But for me this is what I call life
[Verse 2:]
Girl, you ain't the only one to have a baby,
That's no excuse to be living all crazy
So she stared me right square in the eye
And said, "Everyday I wake up, hoping to die"
She said, "They're gonna know about pain
'Cause me and my sister ran away,
So our daddy couldn't rape us,
Before I was a teenager
I done been through more shit
You can't even relate to"
[Chorus:]
What would you do if your son was at home
Crying all alone
On the bedroom floor,
Cause he's hungry and the only way to feed him is to
Sleep with a man for a little bit of money?
And his daddy's gone in and out of lock down,
I ain't got a job now,
He's just smokin' rock now,
So for you this is just a good time
But for me this is what I call life
[Break:]
What would you do?
Get up off my feet and stop making tired excuses
What would you do?
Get up off my feet and stop making tired excuses
What would you do?
Get up off my feet and stop making tired excuses
What would you do?
Get up off my feet!
[Chorus:]
What would you do if your son was at home
Crying all alone
On the bedroom floor,
Cause he's hungry and the only way to feed him is to
Sleep with a man for a little bit of money?
And his daddy's gone in and out of lock down,

QOTD #38 & 39
38. Who did you last call?
Wow, I don't think I can remember the last time I called someone. The last phone call I had, however, was earlier today in which I'm pretty sure someone butt-called my house...
39. Who was the last person you danced with?
Um, dancing...at a dance... That would with two of my floor friends. I've probably done some impromptu dancing since then, but it wasn't with anyone.

Baking (& QOTD #37)
I've been doing some baking in my spare time. Today I made gingerbread men. I'm planning on decorating them tomorrow. I also cut out the pieces for a little gingerbread house. Hopefully it turns out. I'll post pictures once it's been assembled. I'm really excited for it, cause it's going to be mini! Earlier this week I made sugar cookies. I love making cookies that use cookie cutters. And so here they are:
This guy wasn't supposed to be the Monopoly man, but he turned out that way.
Making these cookies took me all afternoon, and I have no regrets.
37. Do you believe in love at first sight?
I believe that you can be attracted to someone at first sight, but I don't think you can develop genuinely true love feelings right away.
Also, this:
We have this cookie stamp that says "HOMEMADE" which I love.
As always, some cookies don't make the cut. (I wasn't even trying to make that a pun. I'm hilarious)
Then I thought, I can do so much more than just the cookie cutter shapes.
And then the layering began. This guy wasn't supposed to be the Monopoly man, but he turned out that way.
I love my little pirate man :) Don't ask what the girl is holding, I don't know what it is.
And then this happened >:)Making these cookies took me all afternoon, and I have no regrets.

QOTD #34, 35 & 36
34. Listening to?
Can You Feel The Love Tonight, from The Lion King. (As a part of my Disney favourites playlist).
35. Do you ever write in pencil anymore?
Well, I've been writing out my astronomy notes in pencil, so I have a lot recently, yes. But other than that, not really. I prefer pen.
36. Do you know where the last person you kissed is?
Well, "never been kissed". But the last person I kissed was my mom, and she's at work (or on her way home).

Top Men cont'd (QOTD #32 & 33)
10. Nicholas Hoult
So I found out about this guy because he's Jennifer Lawrence's boyfriend. I hadn't known that JLaw had a boyfriend, so obviously I had to look him up. And I'm glad I did. Hot dawm.
Younger and older, he looks good. He almost reminds me of Justin Timberlake. But man.
32. Does the person you have feelings for right now, know you do?
(Ask and ye shall receive. Although these love questions are easy to answer, they always bring me down a little on the inside.)
I wish I could say yes, but alas, I do not have those kinds of feelings for anyone at the moment.
33. Are you one of those people who never drinks soda?
Ha, soda. I didn't used to be, but I have become one. I stopped drinking it over the summer a couple years ago because I was at camp, but when I started drinking it again, I found I didn't like the fizziness. So I don't really drink pop anymore. I'll drink Sprite if it's in a Shirley Temple, but that's about it. (Unless you're one of those people who counts Nestea as pop. In which case, we can no longer be friends).

QOTD #?
Yet again, my lovely followers, I've fallen behind.
29. Do you really, truly miss someone right now?
Well, I know the answer I should say is my mom, since she is away for the weekend. I mean, don't get me wrong, I do miss her. But I wouldn't say I truly miss her. I'm glad that she has this time to relax and get away from the family for a bit. I'm sure this is coming out all wrong, but hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say.
30. Does everyone deserve a second chance?
(Man, some of these questions are making me think! What happened to the love life questions? At least those were easy to answer...) I'm going to say yes. Obviously it would be hard to give everybody a second chance, especially if people have done something particularly horrible. But God gives us second chances, and so the least we can do is give others a second chance.
31. Honestly, do you hate the last boy you were talking to?
No, I do not hate my brother. (Well, we have a bit of a love/hate relationship, I guess you could say).

28. What was the last thing that made you laugh?
My sister knows what it is (she was the one who did the funny thing). But I can't tell you, cause it's gift related. Sorry. Maybe after Christmas I'll tell you.

Home Again, Home Again (QOTD #27)
I came home last night. It is good to be back. I have an exam on the 19th (which sucks) but other than that, I'm done! I can't believe the first term is over! Only 7 more to go :$ I put up our Christmas tree today (all by myself, might I add). I'm going to decorate it tomorrow. My hands are all scratched up from spreading apart all of the branches of the tree. I feel like my family has so many Christmas decorations that never get used. I guess it's because it's all kind of a mis-mash of different things we've collected over the years. We really should just get rid of some stuff. But it's good to be back regardless.
27. Would you be able to date someone who doesn't make you laugh?
I guess if I didn't know that fact about them, I would date them. But then once I found out that I didn't find them funny, it would be hard to keep dating them. I definitely wouldn't marry someone who couldn't make me laugh.

QOTD #26
26. Is your current hair colour your natural hair colour?
Yep! There's only one time when it wasn't, and even then it was only a highlight. In grade 9 there was a fundraiser where everything was blue, so they were dying people's hair blue. But since I have dark hair, they had to bleach it first. So I had a blue strand for a couple days, but then I had a bleached strand for a while. And when I say a while, I mean I just let it grow out. It wasn't perfectly bleached though, they didn't leave it in long enough. It was more of a light brown. I actually really liked having it.

QOTD #25
25. What would you say if the person you like/love kissed another girl/boy?
Well, I don't like like anybody right now, and I'm assuming when they say love they don't mean family. But if I did like someone and they kissed someone else, I guess I would be jealous. If I was going out with the person, then I would be mad at them and probably consider breaking up with them.
I'd love to go on vacation to...
China (it's on my bucket list to walk along the Great Wall of China). But I would also love to go back to England and visit all the Doctor Who and Sherlock related things.

Aeropostale
Last weekend Aeropostale was having a 50% off sale so I decided to look at their website. There were some things I was interested in getting. If you spent $75, then you got free shipping. So I added some of those little thing that you don't really want, but you get anyways just to get yourself the free shipping. I go to put my order through and what appears but A $25 INTERNATIONAL HANDLING FEE. I couldn't believe it. I gave up on the order because it was all just so stupid. Free shipping means free shipping as in no additional money required. Then my parents were in an Aeropostale store and were able to get one of the things I had wanted. Unfortunately, the thing I wanted the most wasn't at the store. Yesterday I told myself that if I wanted to get people presents, I'm going to have to stop spending money on myself, because I've been spending money like there's no tomorrow recently. But when I went to church this morning and was walking through the mall, there it was. The thing I wanted, a neon coloured infinity scarf, hanging there, just waiting for me. And when I had been looking at it online, it was 50% off, but it was 60% off in the store, so that made it even harder to resist. So despite the fact that I don't have a lot of money and I told myself I wasn't buying anything else and everybody's gift budget just went down a smudge, I bought the scarf :)

QOTD #24
24. What do you want right this second?
Um, not to have to study? Have my exams behind me? It to be Christmas Eve? I want multiple things, hardly any of which are worthy of me actually having.
My perfect day would be...
Ideally, spent with my husband (or husband to be), neither of us have to go to work, reading, swinging in a hammock after a nice walk through a forest. I dunno, who actually thinks about these things?!

Christmas Shoes
There I stood in another line
Trying to buy that last gift or two
I'm really in the Christmas mood
Standing right in front of me
Was a little boy waiting anxiously
Pacing around like little boys do
And in his hands he held
A pair of shoes
And his clothes were worn and old
He was dirty from head to toe
And when it came his time to pay
I couldn't believe what I heard him say
Sir I wanna buy these shoes for my Momma please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry Sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see, she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes will make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful
If Momma meets Jesus, tonight.
They counted pennies for what seem like years
And cashier says son there's not enough here
He searches is pockets franticly
And he turned and he looked at me
And he said Momma made Christmas good at our house
Most years she just did without
Tell me Sir
What am I gonna do?
Some how I've got to buy her these Christmas shoes
So I layed the money down
I just had to help him out
And I'll never forget
The look on his face
When he said Mamma's gonna look so great.
Sir I wanna buy these shoes, for my Momma please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry Sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see, she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes will make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful,
If Momma meets Jesus tonight.
I knew I caught a glimpse of heavens love as he thanked me and ran out.
I know that God had sent that little boy to remind me
What Christmas is all about
Sir I wanna buy these shoes for my Momma please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry Sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while

Sherlock
So season 3 of Sherlock finally has a (British) air date:
(We already knew it was airing in the USA on Jan 19th). Last week it was announced that it would be sometime in December or January (no sh*t Sherlock [I'm so puny]). And then people were thinking that it would be the 22nd of Dec or the 29th. But BBC released today the air dates of all three episodes (read with sarcasm and pain), with more theatricality than Sherlock himself:
They drove a hearse around London all morning with the air date and his name in flowers.
Personally I think it was a little out of character for BBC, but I loved it all the same. BBC had been tweeting the previous evening to be on the look out for a special vehicle. People were lining the streets to see it and take pictures with it. Talk about a reveal.
The weird part though is that Jan 1st is a Wednesday, when it usually airs on Sundays. It will, however resume that course, with the air dates being Jan 1st, 5th and 12th. So we get to see the episodes sooner, but that also means that it will be over quicker :(

Roller Coaster (& QOTD #23)
In my GBDA 103 class we went down to the UX & Gamification research lab that the Stratford campus houses (which I did not know about). It has this simulator which we got to try out. It was set on a roller coaster. It was so cool. You wore these goggles that looked into a small screen attached to the head set. There was also a screen showing it so that other people looking on could see what you were experiencing, but it wasn't 3D. Then if you turned your head, the view in the simulation would follow accordingly. It was really cool (not as good as a real roller coaster though). But after awhile it made you dizzy and now I have a headache. But it was fun.
23. Are your eyes the same colour as your dad's?
Yuppers.
I define downtime as...
I don't know that I've ever thought about this specifically. I guess I would call it when you are relaxed and enjoying yourself. For example, I would define downtime when you are doing something you enjoy and you don't feel guilty about it. I mean, I enjoy spending time on the internet, but I'm usually supposed to be doing something else (like studying). So downtime would be when you don't have something else to be doing.
(This is the thing you wore).

So on tumblr
it told me that if you search "doge meme" into youtube all of the words change colour and become comic sans. Then underneath that somebody else had said that they thought it was lying but they found out that it wasn't. I didn't believe it (but I had to check).
it wasn't kidding
go try it

QOTD #22
Guys, I finished everything on my list to do today and it's not even 5 o'clock yet. This never happens. Also, we had a college dinner last night (where everybody gets dressed up and there are servers and we all eat at the same time). I had half an hour so I thought I would try to straighten my hair. I DID IT IN 8 MINUTES. 8 MINUTES. I straightened my hair in 8 minutes. That does not happen. I have thick hair and a lot of it. 8 minutes! I still can't get over it. My hair will be straight much more often now that I know it won't take me half an hour to do so.
22. Would you ever want to swim with sharks?
Well, I have already. But I was floating across the top of the water and they were deeper down. And they were ting sharks. I don't think I would want to do the whole dropped-into-shark-infested-waters-in-a-cage thing though.
My guiltiest pleasure is...
Wow, um, I dunno. Probably eating snacks when I've already eaten lots. And watching movies and TV online... :)

Italian Lesson
In English when you say the year, 1995 for example, you can say it either as "one thousand nine hundred ninety-five" or as "nineteen ninety-five". Most go with the latter. However, in Italian, you don't have that option. You have to say it all out. So 1995, for example, would be: millenovecentonovantacinque. All one word, too. To break it down: mille-nove-cento-novanta-cinque, which is thousand-nine-hundred-ninety-five.
Hope you enjoyed your lesson!
(I was more doing this to point out the length of saying the date, rather than actually teach you anything.)

Ok so we finally got some heaters (well I think we were actually just given the ones that were in the hall). So my roommate had them both plugged in on her side of the room, causing the electrical breaker to flip. So then we went to Karen, the Head of Housing and complained that we didn't have heating or electricity in our outlets. She said she was about to call somebody about the heating, and that she would send someone to look at the breaker. The breaker was flipped back and we had electricity, but then it flipped again. The heaters were too much for the outlet. So now we only have one, plugged in on the other end of the room. Hopefully it will start to warm up. Well, hopefully the heating starts working again, but this will have to do for now.

QOTD #21
21. Are you in a good mood?
Well, while I should have been studying, I was watching vlogbrothers videos about The Fault in our Stars movie which I am SO EXCITED FOR. It comes out on June 6th, 2014. I also learned that Ansel Elgort, who plays Augustus Waters in TFioS, is also in the movie for Divergent, which I am ALSO VERY EXCITED FOR (he plays Tris's brother). So that was some fun fangirling. But it is also RIDICULOUSLY COLD ON MY FLOOR AND ESPECIALLY IN MY ROOM. The entire wing that my floor is on is cold, the heating isn't working. Probably how the mould got started. Or I guess mould would thrive in warmer temperatures...? Anyways, I've been wearing sweaters and multiple pairs of sock for the past week. There was even a time I put gloves on I was so cold. Being at the end of the hall (and not the end attached to the building), my room and the room across from me are the coldest. Somebody had a thermometer and the end rooms are AN ENTIRE 10 DEGREES COLDER than the rest of the building. They put two dinky heaters in the hall, which is kind of warming up the hall, BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP MY ROOM. The room across from me had been given a heater when it first started to get cold and they say that it only raised the temperature 2 degrees. The girls in that room don't even sleep in their room anymore. They go sleep on other floors WHERE THE TEMPERATURE IS NOT COMPARABLE TO THAT OF OUTSIDE. So if you're still looking for a Christmas gift idea, a heater would be greatly appreciated. At least I'm only here for 5 more days and then I'm home! So to answer the question, yes. I am in a good mood. TFioS tipped the scale. Had I decided to to what I was supposed to be doing (studying for Italian), I would not be in a good mood.
What scares me is...
The unknown. And I know a lot of people probably say that. But I don't mean the unknown as in "what's outside our galaxy?" kind of unknown (although that's probably pretty scary as well). I mean if somebody has a surprise or something. The little unknowns. For example, when the bus to TO left before I was on it and there was nobody around to tell me what was going on, that was scary. Situations where I am doing something and there is nobody to reassure me that what I'm doing it correct, that scares me.
